Terms of Service
This English version is provided for convenience. If it conflicts with the Traditional Chinese version, the Chinese version governs.
1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing or using Playdeck (the "App") you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy; if you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. The service
The App provides party game prompt decks, single-device and local-network multiplayer play, host and player screens, and Playdeck + features depending on version or plan. Some features require device permissions, a shared local network, compatible devices or third-party platform services, and so may not be available on every device or in every situation.
3. Age limit and nature of content
Prompts include truths, dares, naming others and other social interactions, and the App offers an adult-oriented "18+" intensity option; it is recommended only for users aged 18 or over. Prompts are for entertainment and do not constitute advice of any kind; you may skip any prompt or stop the game at any time.
4. Your responsibilities
You should judge for yourself whether game settings, participants' willingness and the setting are appropriate, and you are responsible for the intensity you choose and the interactions that follow. Do not use the App unlawfully, in violation of others' rights, through unauthorised automation or reverse engineering, or in any way that interferes with the App or third-party services.
Some games ask you to type text or make choices. That content is sent within your local network to other participants in the same game, and some of it is made public to the table under the game's rules. It is not uploaded to us and we cannot obtain it, so we also cannot moderate or remove it; you are fully responsible for what you enter and must not enter anything unlawful, infringing on others' rights, or offensive to others.
5. Local data and backups
Settings, lists and game progress are stored mainly on your device. You are responsible for backing up and managing your data; a lost device, removing the App, clearing data, system failure or backup/transfer settings may all cause data to be lost or unrecoverable.
6. Connected features and networks
Multiplayer requires all devices to be on the same local network. Some public, corporate or campus networks block device-to-device connections, which prevents players from joining; this is outside the App's control. Local connections are unencrypted; only use them on networks you trust.
7. Paid features
If you purchase Playdeck +, payments, refunds and billing questions are handled by Google Play under its applicable rules. RevenueCat is used to manage in-app purchases and entitlements; we do not store your payment card information.
Playdeck + is a one-time purchase that does not auto-renew; price and currency are as shown on the store checkout screen, and the entitlement is tied to the account used at purchase and can be retrieved through the App's "Restore purchases" feature. Under Article 19-1 of Taiwan's Consumer Protection Act and related digital-content rules, if you have downloaded or begun using digital content after purchase, you may not be able to exercise the seven-day cooling-off right.
We may provide unlocks without purchase for store review, promotions or testing; such unlocks are not purchases, may be ended at any time, and cannot be transferred or used as grounds for a refund.
8. Third-party services
The App uses Firebase, RevenueCat, Google Play and device system features. When using these third-party services you must also comply with their applicable terms and privacy policies. We do not guarantee the availability of networks, stores or system features.
9. Intellectual property
The App and its code, interface, graphics, prompt content and other content are protected by applicable intellectual property rights. Except as permitted by law or by us in writing, you may not copy, modify, distribute, rent, sell or create derivative works. Licences for open-source software used by the App can be viewed in the App under Settings → Open-source licences.
10. Changes and termination
We may update, suspend or discontinue all or part of the App for maintenance, security, legal or product reasons, and will give notice where reasonably practicable. We will make efforts to keep purchased content available, but do not guarantee that any particular game or prompt will exist permanently. Items purchased through a store remain subject to the store's rules and legal requirements.
11. Disclaimer
The prompts, timers, scoring and game flow provided by the App are for entertainment and social convenience only. You should verify settings and any important decisions yourself. The App does not constitute medical, psychological, legal or other professional advice.
While we strive to keep connected features reliable, device state, operating system limits, permissions, network conditions, power or third-party services may cause delays, disconnections or service interruptions.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of or inability to use the App. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law, nor does it affect consumers' statutory rights.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. Updated versions will be published in the App or on the official website; continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). For disputes arising from these Terms, both parties agree to the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance; however, consumers may assert jurisdiction and other rights granted to them under the Consumer Protection Act and other mandatory provisions.
